To create a unique experience for the youth of our Jain centers across North America, by bringing them together in a fun, educational game-style format, whereby it allows them to increase their knowledge of Jainism and providing them an opportunity to forge new friendships with the Pathshala students nationwide. The Jain Academic Bowl, popularly known as JAB, is a team competition for young Jains which is held biennially at the JAINA conventions. This competition tests the overall knowledge of the participants in various areas of Jainism, along with their ability to answer quickly. In the end, every participant is a winner because of the immense knowledge they acquire and the fun that they have as a participant in this team competition. All JAB questions are created using Jain Academic Bowl Manual, also known as a Compendium of Jainism, compiled by using JAINA Education Material. There are three categories in a JAB Tournament based on the ages of the participants.A Junior category of 14 years old and younger; Senior category of 21 years and younger. Beginner category of 14 years and younger, with participants who are new to JAB to be able to compete against similarly equipped teams and not be intimidated by the more experienced JAB teams. JAB Admin team worked very hard to bring a successful tournament during JAINA Convention 2025 in Chicago. It was the largest participation of teams in JAB so far. The statistics outline is as follows:
JAB Admin team is gearing up to bring a fun-filled & challenging tournament to present yet another unique experience to its participants and audience during JAINA Convention 2027 to be held in Dallas, Texas. We would like to invite more Pathshala centers to participate in the upcoming JAB tournament, including centers from the US, Canada and even global centers. Our goal will always be to create an even better experience each time for the participants and the audience!
